SUMMARY The candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing a small team of contractors, which is responsible for day-to-day communications, operations, coordination and working with wireless carriers and with their respective application vendors to ensure all carrier application deliverables are met and relevant milestones achieved, contributing to the overall technical acceptance with the wireless carrier. In this role, the candidate will drive and ensure that the team's daily activities with various cross functional and R&D teams (both domestic and international) are on track and be responsible to ensure all carrier application issues are properly handled, all high risk items mitigated, and all deliverables received from vendors. In addition to the project management tasks, the candidate will be an engineering representative for Samsung to proactively interface with application developers, testers, app vendors, and customer account teams to understand and analyze issues which arise during the commercialization process and communicate with the relevant teams to resolve issues in a timely manner. This role requires candidate to demonstrate initiative, independence, foresight, and technical acumen.Role and Responsibilities RESPONSIBILITIES Process & understand, report, and clearly articulate issues to and from R&D teams to carriers/vendors and vice versa. Effectively track and follow up on open items, issues, and topics and bring them to closure. Request and follow up on app deliverables from carriers/vendors. Drive carriers/vendors to execute process on time and with quality (ensuring adequate diagnostics are provided with problem reports) Work with application development teams to meet aggressive project schedules for carrier apps, requirements, and deliverables. Inform, discuss, and follow up on any Android and Samsung policy enforcements and other issues with vendors Coordinate and facilitate joint debug, testing, and troubleshooting sessions between R&D teams and external parties Provide critical local R&D support when necessary due to commercialization urgency. Proactively lead team and drive issues to successful closure Skills and Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field is required. Experience in field of Android mobile device technology Minimum of 1 year of wireless, telecommunications experience strongly preferred Android development experience is a plus Excellent communications skills (written & verbal). Experience working with multiple 3rd parties, vendors, and external entities Program management or supervisory role experience Ability to read, write, interpret, and have a full understanding of technical requirement documents, engineering test manuals, standards and specifications, materials, customer applications and related documents. Execute strong risk management practices Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks, issues and contingency plans Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects. Ability to navigate across complex organizational and cultural environments. Work independently and in team environments in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities. Able to work across various time zones with overseas R&D teams
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
